Effective date: October 12, 2026
Bernice™ is a browser extension, provided by Western Workshops, that saves copies of your AI conversations to your own computer. We built Bernice so that your conversations stay with you.
The short version: Bernice does not collect, transmit, sell or share your data. Everything stays on your computer.
When you are on a supported AI chat website (currently chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai and gemini.google.com), Bernice reads the conversation text shown on the page, the conversation’s web address and identifier, and the names of attached files. It reads these sites only, and only to record your conversations.
We do not sell, rent, transfer or share your data with anyone. We do not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness or lending, or any purpose other than Bernice’s single purpose of saving your conversations to your computer.
Bernice is updated through the Chrome Web Store, which is operated by Google under Google’s own privacy policy.
You can turn recording off at any time, choose or change folders, delete your saved files, or remove Bernice. Removing Bernice deletes its local store. Your saved files remain on your computer until you delete them.
bernice.app has no sign-up forms, cookies of our own, analytics or tracking. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, and the page loads its fonts from Google Fonts.
Bernice is not directed to children under 13.
If this policy changes, we will post the update here with a new effective date.
The use of information received from the supported websites adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
